Name:Salute the Badge 01 18 08
Description:BKTX4 San Antonio chapter members attended the Salute the Badge - Rampage Hockey night. I want to let everyone know who couldn’t make it—you missed a good time! JR did an awesome job getting the Blue Knights tickets where we could all sit together, the game was exciting (even though I still don’t understand it) and there was a cool fight! It was a special evening with a tribute to all the law enforcement and firefighters in the area who have lost their lives in the line of duty (from the 1800’s to present). The Rampage wore a special jersey last night which also paid tribute to law enforcement and firefighters and we were given the opportunity to interact with some of the players after game. By the way…does anyone know of, or could help me with, developing a strategy (dubious or otherwise will suffice) for winning a tug-of-war on ice? Simply put—I saw something last night I don’t believe we should allow to happen next year!Revenge is a dish best served…cold. Ron STINKY Davidson, BKTXIV Treasure

The Riders On The Way raised over $100,000.00 for the Wounded Warrior Assistance Center; it was standing room only at the park! There were many veterans on hand to interact with. It was a very moving and inspiring experience. Chapter 4 also presented COL. Wendy Martinson, Garrison Commander at Ft. Sam Houston, with an appreciation award for her cooperation with law enforcement. As you may recall from last year, the representative for the Wounded Warriors (sniper victim while on duty in Iraq) was in very bad shape (walked with cane and very weak). This year he RODE to Ft. Sam from 619. He is able to walk; his head has been fully repaired and is in awesome spirits. He wanted to pass on to all of you that he truly appreciates your support and sacrifice on his and his comrade’s behalf. I hope to see more of you next year. STINKY

Description:This year nine members of Blue Knights Chapter IV attended the 2007 Texas Honor Ride fund raiser in Montgomery, TX. This now annual event is hosted by the Lone Star Cowboy Church and Riders on the Way. The group put down over 500 miles this year over a two day period. At this time we can only estimate there to have been over 500 motorcycles (there were more than last year-that’s for sure)! There were so many riders we could not see the end of the procession at any time! This year saw the addition of more vendors and supporters. The US Army again provided an APACHE attack helicopter (it actually flew over us as we were on the ride) and a US Coast Guard rescue helicopter. The US Army also provided some of their large vehicles for display. Again, as last year, the Blue Knights were the official Road Captains and were asked to lead the ride and placed at the front. There were over 20 different uniformed law enforcement agencies represented.

It is the Marine, Airman, Sailor, and Soldier who ensures our way of life will survive…” The Alamo City Community Marching Band provided excellent music which culminated with Taps being played. STINKY
