This now annual event is hosted by the Lone Star Cowboy Church and Riders on the Way. The group put down over 500 miles this year over a two day period. At this time we can only estimate there to have been over 500 motorcycles (there were more than last year-that’s for sure)! There were so many riders we could not see the end of the procession at any time! This year saw the addition of more vendors and supporters. The US Army again provided an APACHE attack helicopter (it actually flew over us as we were on the ride) and a US Coast Guard rescue helicopter. The US Army also provided some of their large vehicles for display. Again, as last year, the Blue Knights were the official Road Captains and were asked to lead the ride and placed at the front. There were over 20 different uniformed law enforcement agencies represented.

The ride was nice (a little windy on Friday and some sporadic light showers on the Saturday evening ride home) and I only got us lost twice! As for the event itself, a US Army APACHE attack helicopter arrived and we were allowed to meet the crew and look at the aircraft. The Lone Star Cowboy Church provided free Starbucks coffee and DONUTS for breakfast and lunch was smoked sausages and blue bell ice cream. As for the ride, it was about 50 miles around the area and through beautiful Sam Houston National Forrest. It was really cool to see that many motorcycles and so many Blue Knights from other chapters (Conroe and Houston). It really seemed that everyone wanted a picture of a Blue Knights vest. There were over 10 different law enforcement agencies that donated their time to assist with traffic escorts. STINKY
